Are you a member of an organization that will benefit from your enrollment in Artios? While non-profit organizations such as churches often have limited financial resources, there are situations in which they are able to direct funds toward leadership development.

If you want to request financial sponsorship from your organization, here are a few tips:

  1. Make the request in writing. This way you aren’t putting any one on the spot, and the decision makers are able to have exposure to all of the information they’ll need in order to make the decision.
  2. Be specific about your request. Share the specific name(s) of the course(s) you want to take, when it will start, and how much it will cost (note that the following courses are currently offered at discounted rates: LEA 111/LEA 321/THE 202 = $150; COM 121 = $90). Please use our letter template below as a model. This way you will be sure to include all of the information that they need.
  3. Explain to them how sponsoring you to receive this training will specifically benefit the organization.
  4. Make your request as soon as possible. It often takes time for Christian organizations to make financial decisions. Because they’ll need to fill out a sponsorship request form two weeks before the course is scheduled to begin, you should make your request at least 3-4 weeks before the course start date.
  5. If you don’t already have a student account, create an account in myArtios before you make your request. Since your sponsor will need your student ID, creating an account will make sure that you have one to give them.
  6. In many cases, an organization will want information from Artios regarding students’ program enrollment, academic history, and goals. Therefore, after you have sent your request letter, go to myArtios and submit an Information Release Authorization form. This will send a follow-up email to your organizational contact which allows them to access designated information in your student file that is relevant to financial sponsors. You do not want to submit this form before sending your request letter because form submission will trigger an automatic email to your organization contact. However, you want this email arrive after they receive your request.

This template can serve as a model when you write your request letter. However, please be sure to personalize it with information that is of value to you and your organization. The bracketed text is of particular importance; you will want to take special care to provide accurate information.

Dear New Life Church Board,

On April 9, a 5 week Christian Leadership course entitled LEA 111 Essentials of Vibrant Leadership will be offered through Artios Christian College.

Because I believe that New Life Church will benefit from my enrollment in this course, I would like to request financial sponsorship to facilitate my participation in this training.

The course costs $150 . I have set aside funds to purchase textbooks for this course, but I was wondering if New Life Church would be willing to sponsor me for all or part of the tuition for the course. Please watch for an email from Artios containing a link to my Student Sponsorship Profile.

While the course starts on April 9, Artios asks that sponsors complete a Sponsorship Form by March 26. Here is some information that will help you make an informed decision about my request by this date:

Description of Training

LEA 111 Essentials of Vibrant Leadership is a course that focuses on missional Christian leadership with an emphasis on practical theology and character formation in the context of an equipping ministry.

How Sponsoring Me Will Benefit New Life Church

As a Children’s Ministry teacher, I want to better understand how I can use my influence to be more intentional about using my time with these children – both inside and outside of the classroom – to draw them closer to Christ. I want every part of our congregation to become a vibrant 21st century church – and that especially includes the children’s ministry. As I grow in each of these areas, I will be better equipped to pour them out into the lives of these children and think strategically about the direction of our children’s ministry. This course is a very good opportunity to spend time focusing on these things and getting feedback from other believers on how they apply to my life and ministry.
