Terms & Definitions
An association of conferences and councils of the Church of God (Seventh Day) active around the world. Its purpose is to facilitate the development and growth of these conferences and councils, to coordinate the evangelistic efforts of the Church of God (Seventh Day) at the international level, and to promote doctrinal unity among its membership. The IF is the administrative body of the global Church of God (Seventh Day).
Committee of the NAMC who receives applications for pastoral documentation, regulates the status of the Councilās members, and acts as a Committee on Discipline for the Councilās members.

General
Course registration and program application takes place via the student portal (myArtios). myArtios account login is required for either.
We recommend that potential students start by taking one or both of our foundational courses, COM 121 Written Communication for Leadership (available every term) and LEA 111 Essentials of Vibrant Leadership (available 4 terms/year), to familiarize themselves with our course format, before applying to a program.

Yes. Our courses are available in English and Spanish to anyone, regardless of location. Please be aware that textbook and internet availability may be a challenge. You can view the list of textbooks for each course in the student portal (myArtios) and read more about computer and internet requirements here. Please also be aware that most financial aid is limited to GC members residing in the United States or Canada.
Absolutely! Artios believes that all followers of Jesus are leaders, and it is our goal to equip each leader for their arena of influence! As a ministry of the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day), our courses and instructors incorporate CoG7 doctrine as set forth in the Statement of Faith; however, we welcome students outside of CoG7 and value the unique perspective that they bring. All students are asked to respect the doctrines, in accordance with our code of conduct.
No. Artios classes are available to anyone, regardless of residency, and we do not ask about residency during admission.
However, many of our pastoral ministry students aspire to NAMC documentation, which does require residency in the US or Canada. Learn more about the NAMC here.
Artios Christian College is recognized by the Colorado Department of Higher Education as a private accredited institution of higher learning with a religious authorization. This authorization is defined as a bona fide religious postsecondary educational institution, offering only programs which are religious in nature, which is exempt from property taxation under the laws of this state and whose degrees or diplomas have no state recognition.

This recognition is not considered by the United States Department of Education as being regionally or nationally accredited. Therefore, we are not an eligible institution according to the IRS, Publication 970, for a tuition educational deduction (tax credit).
Artios students pay around 80% less than students pay at schools whose tuition reflects the financial burden of regional accreditation. Read more about our edge here.
Artios credits may be accepted as prior learning credits at regionally accredited schools and we encourage our students to petition for consideration. Contact the Office of the Registrar for assistance with documentation for consideration.
Yes! The Artios Center for Vibrant Leadership, an initiative of Artios Christian College, exists to take the equipping ministry of Artios beyond the classroom and into the church through seminars, weekend events, customized coaching, and other not-for-credit resources tailored for local congregations, leadership teams, boards, and pastors. Courses
Artios online courses are designed to be flexible. There are no scheduled lecture or discussion times that are required (select courses may have some optional video conference discussions). You have the freedom to login and post at your convenience provided your assignments are submitted prior to set due dates.
Yes. Our courses are designed to be flexible to allow you to login when you have time to complete your assignments. You will definitely be stretched during a 5-week course. However, our average student is middle-aged with a full-time job, a family, and ministry or other commitments, so it canāand doesāwork for many students. Our default course load is part-timeāone course at a timeāto accommodate the adult learner.
Students aspiring to apply to the North American Ministerial Council (NAMC) for either a Local Pastor Certificate of a Ministerial License should enroll in Artiosā Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership program (Pastoral Ministry concentration).
If Local Pastor Certification is your goal, be sure to mention this in your program application, and weāll prioritize scheduling the Local Pastor Orientation courses as early as possible in your program.

Absolutely! Artios believes that all followers of Jesus are leaders, and it is our goal to equip each leader for their arena of influence! Our Certificate of Leadership Studies program is popular amongst our non-pastoral students.

Auditing is not available for online classes. Satellite campus courses may be available to audit.
Financial
Tuition is $300 per course.
All course registration and payment takes place via Artiosā online course registration system, available in the student portal (myArtios). Full payment is required at the time of registration.
Yes! You can find information on organizations ready to sponsor students, as well as direction on how to request a sponsorship from your local congregation or organization here.
Artios is committed to financially responsible course tuition. That means that while you will find courses with similar titles at other Christian colleges and universities, as an Artios student, you will pay around 80% less than what students pay at schools whose tuition reflects the financial burden of accreditation. Our low tuition means that you can pay as you go and graduate without any student debt. Therefore, Artios classes arenāt eligible for student loans.
Because our tuition is low and tuition only covers a fraction of our budget, full payment is required at the time of registration and we donāt have a payment plan structure in the student portal (myArtios). If you are in need of a payment plan exception, you may contact the Registrar at registrar@artioscollege.org to discuss options.

Yes. Artios policy allows for up to 50% of your total credits for an Artios academic program to be transferred from an eligible institution. Click here for details.

This recognition is not considered by the United States Department of Education as being regionally or nationally accredited, however, we follow best-practices in online education and our students have received prior learning credits at regionally accredited universities based on submission of course syllabi and sample assignments from Artios courses. Artios does have an articulation agreement with The Bible Seminary that permits Artios Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership gradates admission into any TBS Masterās degree. Click here for more information.
Yes. Artios provides credit by demonstrated competency opportunities for several of our courses. Click here for more information.
Yes. A commencement ceremony will take place every other July (odd years) at the biennial convention of the General Conference of the Church of God (Seventh Day). All students who graduate in the two academic years leading up to the commencement ceremony (including the summer term of the commencement year) will be eligible to participate.

Student Support
Many e-mail and Internet companies are using programs to block unwanted e-mail, often called spam. Sometimes, however, these programs block e-mails you want to get. So, if youāre not receiving important emails about your courses, programs, or resource registrations (registration reminders, registration/order confirmations, registration follow-up, course/resource access, and student services communications, to name a few), they are likely in your junk/spam folder.

If you get too many emails, you can unsubscribe from some or all of our email groups. To manage your subscriptions, click on your profile in the student portal (myArtios) and select āEmail Preferencesā.

When you register for a class, it will appear in the āMy Classesā box on the home page of the student portal (myArtios). You will then be able to access your class on the virtual campus on the Wednesday or Thursday before the class begins. You will receive an email notification when you receive access to your class. To ensure that you receive emails related to your class, click here for instructions on how to whitelist our emails.If you have been notified of access to your class, but you are not able to access it, please contact student services for assistance. Before you make the decision to discontinue a course, please talk to your instructor about your situation; sometimes you just need a little help or an extension on an assignment. If you are enrolled in an academic program, you may also want to contact your academic advisor to see how missing this class would impact your course schedule.
